What is Gaza?

Gaza is a small, 40 km strip of Palestinian land where Israel has trapped Palestinians under a brutal and illegal siege for 16 years and violent military rule for over 56 years.
It's the size of Detroit, with 4 times the people.

Who lives in Gaza?

Over 2 million Palestinians live in Gaza, half of whom are children.
The majority of Gaza's population are Palestinian refugees who were violently forced out of their ancestral homes by Israel and pushed into Gaza. Now, because of Israel's bombs, many in Gaza are losing their homes again.

What's Going On Right Now?

Since October 7, Israel has been bombing Gaza indiscriminately, targeting hospitals, schools, apartment buildings, marketplaces, and more, while totally cutting off water, food, and electricity.
As of October 17, Israel has killed over 2,750 Palestinians, including more than 1,000 children so far.

What does Israel's Siege on Gaza mean?

Since 2007, Israel has restricted Gaza's electricity, drinking water, food, and medicine.

Who is Israel targeting in Gaza?

From their words-like saying Gaza has "no civilians"-to their actions- like bombing hospitals and schools in Gaza-Israeli officials have made clear their intent is to purposely
kill civilians.

What do international human rights orgs say about Israel's oppression of Palestinians in Gaza?

Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have called on Israel to end its apartheid system against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
The UN has called Gaza "unlivable" for years due to Israel's brutal siege.
